Unternehmensnachfolge sollte langfristig geplant werden.

Herausforderung Unternehmensnachfolge: Früher planen, klüger handeln!

„What will happen to my company if I no longer want to or can continue it? “ A question that many entrepreneurs seem only too happy to suppress – and only address the issue of business succession when it suddenly becomes urgent.

It used to be almost a given that children would take over the family business. I also know a few medium-sized companies where this has worked out brilliantly in recent years. But in many companies, the reality today is quite different. According to current figures from the Institute for SME Research (IfM Bonn), around 190,000 medium-sized companies in Germany will face the challenge of succession planning by 2027. This also means that over 2.4 million jobs depend directly on a successful handover.

And yet, many entrepreneurs fail to find a suitable successor. This is primarily because they address the issue too late and then try to find someone quickly at all costs. Or because they aren’t even sure whether they want to develop a successor or sell the company.

What are the advantages of each option, what experiences have I had with the Limbeck Group, and what questions should you as entrepreneurs definitely ask yourselves when it comes to the topic of business succession?
